Private Health Care & Testing

Inagene

Private healthcare access for Canadians includes knowing how your own body handles medicine. Inagene is a Canadian pharmacogenomic testing company: one cheek swab shows how your body is likely to respond to more than 200 medications. We help Canadians gain access to private health care and insurance, including testing the public system does not routinely provide.

What It Is

The right drug, the right dose, the first time

Trial and error is how most medication choices still get made: try one, wait, adjust, switch. Pharmacogenomics reads the genes that control how you process medications, so you and your doctor start closer to the right answer.

More than 200 medications

The Complete Health test reports on how you are likely to respond to medications across mental health, pain, cardiology, cancer care, neurology, gastroenterology, and women’s health.

A Toronto laboratory

Samples are analyzed in Inagene’s COLA and CLIA accredited Toronto lab. Inagene holds a Health Canada Medical Device Establishment Licence.

Results in about 10 days

A clear report with medication and dosage recommendations you review with your doctor or pharmacist.

Your DNA stays yours

Data is encrypted, never sold or shared, and your sample is destroyed when it is no longer needed.

The Tests

Focused tests or the full picture

Complete Health, $549

The broadest panel: your predicted response to more than 240 medications across most major areas of medicine. The one most clients choose.

Pain & Mental Health, $449

Focused on the medications used for chronic pain and mental health, where finding the right drug can otherwise take months of trial and error.

Women’s Health, $399

Medication guidance across every stage: menstrual health, birth control, pregnancy and postpartum, and menopause.

Cardiovascular Health, $399

Your response to the medications that treat cholesterol, blood pressure, and blood clotting, and protect your heart.

Prices shown are Inagene’s published prices at the time of writing. Confirm current pricing when you order. An optional Advantage membership, about $150 a year, keeps your report updated as new medications are approved.

The Honest Limits

What a gene test can and cannot do

A pharmacogenomic report is a guide for a conversation with your doctor or pharmacist, not a diagnosis and not a prescription. It will not tell you which drug you must take. It tells you which drugs your body is likely to handle well, and which deserve caution, so the trial and error gets shorter. That is a genuinely useful thing to know before you need a medication, not after.
