Private Health Care & Testing
Galleri
Private healthcare access for Canadians includes screening for cancers that have no screening test at all. Galleri is a multi-cancer early detection blood test from GRAIL: one blood draw that looks for a signal shared by more than 50 types of cancer, and predicts where in the body that signal most likely came from. We help Canadians gain access to private health care and insurance, and in Canada, Galleri is available through Medcan clinics, which launched it in October 2025.

Watch
Why It Matters
Most cancers are found late. This looks earlier.
Standard screening covers a handful of cancers: breast, colon, cervical, prostate, and lung for some smokers. Galleri looks for a signal in the bloodstream shared across more than 50 cancer types, many of which have no screening option today.
One blood draw
No prep, no imaging appointments, no radiation. A standard blood sample, analyzed for DNA patterns shed by cancer cells.
A predicted origin
When a signal is found, the test predicts the tissue it most likely came from, which tells your doctors where to look first.
Built for 50 plus
The test is generally intended for adults 50 and older, when cancer risk rises and early detection changes outcomes most.
Being studied at scale
Galleri is being evaluated in PATHFINDER 2, a study of about 35,000 adults over 50, with Toronto’s University Health Network among the participants.
The Honest Limits
What Galleri cannot do
Galleri is not approved or cleared by Health Canada or the US FDA, and we will not pretend otherwise. A positive result is a signal, not a diagnosis: it starts a workup, it does not finish one. The test is less sensitive for the earliest stage cancers, and it does not replace the standard screening you should keep doing, like mammograms and colonoscopies. What it does is add a wide net where no net existed. For many of our clients, that trade is worth it, with eyes open.

How do I take the Galleri test in Canada?
In Canada, Galleri is available through Medcan clinics, which launched it in October 2025. There is no prep, no imaging appointment, and no radiation: your sample is drawn at a Medcan clinic and sent for analysis, and we arrange it with you.
Does a positive result mean I have cancer?
No. A positive result is a signal, not a diagnosis: it starts a workup, it does not finish one. The predicted origin tells your doctors where to look first.
What are the honest limits of the test?
Galleri is not approved or cleared by Health Canada or the US FDA, and we will not pretend otherwise.
